Besom provides practical help enabling recipients to improve their home and garden
when they could not achieve this by themselves.
Decorating
Besom will decorate one or two rooms or the hall, stairs and landing in a house or flat for a recipient who is unable to do this themselves.
Decorating is carried out free of charge; the project team provides all the equipment and the recipient chooses the colour of the paint that they want.
Small DIY jobs
Besom can sometimes undertake small DIY tasks such as putting up curtain poles or shelving.
Garden clearance
Besom time-givers are able to clear or tidy gardens that have been unmanaged for a period of time. Garden waste such as grass clippings, brambles etc are removed and disposed of by the project team.
Household sorting
At the invitation of the recipient, time-givers can help with activities such as sorting through belongings, reducing excess possessions, or making space.
Disposing of unwanted belongings is the responsibility of the householder.
